GMAC

GMAC was established in 1991 to advise the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors on planning issues that affect or have the potential to affect the Gualala Area.  The Council has powers defined by Board of Supervisors Resolution 91-076  and amended by Resolution 97-035.

DUTIES

Advise the Board of Supervisors on:

Current and long term planning and development projects including amendments to the general Plan and Local Coastal Program.

Those elements and topics of the general Plan and Local Coastal Plan including, but not limited to, land use, circulation, parking, housing, seismic safety, safety, noise, open space, conservation, public access, public health, safety, welfare and public works.  The highest priority of the Council shall be those issues concerning the completion or updating of the general Plan and Local Coastal Program which may reimbursable through the State of California.

The Council may represent the Community to any Federal, State, County, City, Special District or School District, Agency or Commission, or any other organization for any matter listed above concerning the community.

GEOGRAPHIC JURISDICTION

The boundary description for GMAC is specifically defined on an official map.  In general, this can be described as the area bounded by the Pacific Ocean, the Gualala River, the ridge road (Old State Highway, Old Stage Road and Iverson Road).  There are some parcels of land outside these limits which are also included.

OPEN MEETING LAW

All meetings of the Council shall be subject to the Brown Act commencing with California Government Code Section 54950.
