Undergrounding of Utilities

The project to place overhead wires along Highway One underground has been going on for a long time. The documents listed below reflect recent activity on this project. Primary participants are the utility companies (AT&T and PG&E), Mendocino County and GMAC. The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is also periodically involved.

The CPUC held a hearing in San Francisco on November 18, 2008 concerning this project.  Links to the CPUC Draft Resolution E-4180 follow.  Any comments should be addressed to the CPUC (as described in the cover letter) along with copies to Mendocino County Chief Executive Tom Mitchell and Supervisor David Colfax.
